Non-Credit Courses

mdNashua Community College offers non-credit classes which enhance the quality of life and economic development in the community. Courses are developed with an aim towards improving employee well being, upgrading skills, or providing entry-level training for new or prospective employees. Special interest classes offer an opportunity to learn leading edge technologies which can be applied towards professional or personal pursuits.

Below are the types of courses offered and some of the kinds of classes you can expect to attend. For a full Non-credit course offering, please refer to the current course schedule.


 English For Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Nashua community college offers a variety of classes for non-native speakers: workshops,
non-credit classes, and academic courses.


"At NCC, providing the resources needed to help Latino students succeed is a particularly important issue: In the Community College System of New Hampshire, NCC has the highest number of Latino students enrolled, with 69 Latino undergraduates enrolled as of 2008, according to New Hampshire College and University Council data.”

Professional Development

These courses are designed to build an understanding of applications such as word processing using Microsoft Word and also presents an understanding of the Windows operating system. The Microsoft Word class begins with the introduction of concepts such as entering text, text editing, terminology, on-line help, spell checking, and printing.

Machine Tool

Upon the successful completion of these courses, the student should be able to understand and perform basic machine operation, setup and basic programming of CNC Mills and Lathes.

Auto Test Preparation

This an intermediate level class directed toward working technicians who like to acquire ASE certification. The course consists of a balance of classroom and hands-on training. All related NATEF Task areas are expected to be covered. The NCC Auto Department is a NATEF accredited facility that includes a 10 bay shop.

Special Interest

Adobe Photoshop
Learn how to maneuver through the basic tools of Photoshop and produce your own striking images. Enhance your photographs with tools such as Curves, Color correction, Sharpening, Contrast and a host of effects that will bring your images alive!

Sketch-Up 3D Drawing 
Google Sketch-Up is a free program that allows you to draw (not paint or animate) in 3D. Designers and architects use it. You can use it to redesign your home or you can use it to create your own structures, whether realistic or fantasy. This course will walk you through the basics and get you started designing!

Julie Corey, BS, LMT, Reiki Master, has been a professional Drum Circle Facilitator, Teacher, and Performing Musician since 1998.
Julie is a REMO endorsed "Drum Circle Facilitator," one of a few women in the world. She is currently listed on the NH Arts Council Roster for "Arts in Health Care" programs.
