What should I do when I receive an NCC ALERTS message?
There are three things you should do when you receive an NCC ALERTS notification message:

  • Read/Listen to the message - Don't Ignore It!
  • Alert other people. During classes, professors and other students may have their cell phones turned off. If you're in the classroom, please advise the professor that he or she may assist you in taking appropriate action. If you're at work, let your co-workers know about the alert. It's very important to help spread the word.
  • Follow any instructions given with the message. The instructions will be direct and specific to the particular situation. Be sure to follow them carefully. If the situation requires it, additional messages will be transmitted to update you.

How can I be sure my telephone number won't be given out?
The information you provide for NCC ALERTS belongs to Nashua Community College. Our vendor (Connect-ED) ensures that none of your cell phone or e-mail information will be sold, offered or shared in any way with anyone. It's against federal law for them to share or sell personal student informa tion.

Do students need to register to activate this service?
Yes. All currently enrolled students are strongly encouraged to register and provide their emergency contact information using the link above. If you wish to receive alerts for more than one campus you will need to register for each campus you want to receive alerts from. Keep in mind the reliability of the NCC ALERTS system is dependent on the accuracy of the contact information you provide - please keep it updated.

Do employees need to register to activate this services?
No. All employees are automatically registered for the CCSNH ALERTS service by your campus Human Resources office. Please keep your HR office apprised of any changes to your contact information. The CCSNH ALERTS system is dependent on the accuracy of the information you provide - please keep it updated.

Does this mean that I should leave my cell phone on in class?
No. Classroom cell phone use will continue to be guided by policies set by NCC or the individual instructor.

How much does NCC ALERTS cost?
There is no charge for registering - the total cost is covered by the College. However, costs associated with text messaging are dependent on the phone plan you are on. Some phone plans apply nominal charges for text messages which NCC alerts will not reimburse, so be sure to check your cell phone contract.

What if I change my cell phone number or e-mail address?

Will I receive unsolicited messages (SPAM) on my cell phone or e-mail account?
No. NCC ALERTS and Connect-ED will not sell your contact information to third-party marketers.

How do I stop receiving NCC ALERTS?
Students can discontinue receiving messages at any time just as quickly and easily as you registered by using the link above. The NCC Human Resources department will add/delete faculty and staff from the service as their job status changes.

What if I need help registering or changing my contact information?

Campus Security Authorities

Nashua Community College also has members of Faculty and Staff designated as Campus Security Authorities. The CSA's are available to speak with students and guide them in reporting a crime which occurred on campus and at locations where college activities take place.

Parking Permits

Students must park in designated areas only. All student vehicles must have an NCC parking tag displayed. Violators will be fined in accordance with the following schedule: First Offense ($5.00), Second Offense ($10.00), Third Offense ($20.00). To obtain your parking permit, please contact Campus Safety prior to 5:00pm (weekdays only.)

Student IDs (JagCard)

Matriculated students are issued a student ID at the beginning of their first term free-of-charge. Non-matriculated students may purchase an ID for $10.00. Students requesting a replacement ID card will be assessed a fee of $10.00. A valid NCC ID is required when using the facilities in the Wellness Center or when checking out materials from the College library. To obtain your ID card, please contact Campus Safety prior to 5:00pm (weekdays only.)

What is NCC ALERTS?

NCC ALERTS is Nashua Community College's emergency notification system that will help ensure rapid and reliable mass communication to students, faculty, and staff. The NCC ALERT system is designed to communicate with cell phones (text and voice messages), landlines, and e-mail systems, should a crisis, emergency situation or weather closure/delay occur on the NCC Campus.

NCC STUDENTS are automatically registered to receive alerts via college e-mail, but will need to register (opt-in) and provide their emergency contact information using the Registration links on this web page to receive alerts via phone and/or text messaging. Note: Please have your student CCSNH e-mail address and student ID number handy - you will need this information to register. NCC FACULTY AND STAFF are automatically registered by the Human Resources Department - please provide them with your latest emergency contact information.

Why should I register for NCC ALERTS?

Students should register for NCC ALERTS to receive the latest information on campus emergencies delivered to their cell phone (voice or text messge) and e-mail account. Note: Please read this disclaimer as there is no guarantee of delivery due to situations which are outside of the CCSNH or Connect-ED control.
