Nashua, N.H. Nov. 21, 2016 – Nashua Community College (NCC) will partner with Fay’s Fine Cabinetry and the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter (NSKS) for Nashua’s Annual Winter Holiday Stroll on Saturday, Nov. 26 from 5-10 p.m. in downtown Nashua. The three organizations join together as “Kitchens United” to spread holiday cheer and offer a helping hand to our local neighbors in need.
Holiday Stroll attendees can stop by Fay’s Fine Cabinetry on Main Street for a homemade gingerbread cookie prepared by NCC’s culinary arts students. Visitors are also encouraged to give back and be a part of “Kitchens United” by bringing in a monetary or non-perishable food donation. In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about how the NCC culinary arts program supports NSKS, plus get information about the college’s numerous associate degree, certificate, and noncredit programs.
“The community spirit that pervades Nashua during the Holiday Stroll makes this a great time to showcase the vital roles that both NSKS and NCC play in helping area citizens get back on their feet and prepare themselves to take on productive roles in our society.” said Dave Grebowski, owner of Fay’s Fine Cabinetry and member of NCC’s Advisory Board. “The ongoing engagement between these two organizations provides a wonderful example of collaboration between non-profits to expand the impact that either could provide alone. We’re very happy to offer our support.”
The Nashua Winter Holiday Stroll is recognized as the largest community event of the year in Southern New Hampshire. Each year, over 30,000 people from across New England visit downtown Nashua to enjoy this free and family-friendly holiday event. The evening kicks off with a candlelit procession up Main Street from City Hall to Railroad Square where the city’s official Christmas tree is lit.
