What steps has the program taken, is taking, or is planning to take within the next academic year to improve the program completion rate? (Select all that apply):
- Other:
Explain:
The nurse administrator is completing a substantive change and will submit asap. Prior to now, completion rates had not been calculated correctly. After attending a recent new manager workshop and self-study, the rates were revised and the nurse administrator became aware of this issue. The most recent completion rate is 74% ( class of 2018). This completion rate does not include those that will complete within 150% of the time. We won't know that until May of 2019. It may bring up the completion rate to within 2% of the ELA. The completion rates prior to that were 61% (2017) and 80% (2016). The faculty reviewed completion rates, as well as our current demographics, and class size in a recent meeting and decided to change the ELA to be a more realistic achievable rate of 70%. We are looking at admission requirements to discern the best practice in predicting success in the nursing program. We are collecting data on students from the last few years to see what their TEAS scores were, how many times they took the TEAS; Grades for A&P I and II; how many times they took A&P I and II; and overall academic success. The faculty are also looking at results of course, midterm, and final exams as well as ATI proctored exams to identify areas that need improvement and make sure the information is included in the curriculum and put more emphasis on those concepts. Students are reminded often that faculty are available to meet with them to help them understand content and concepts that may be confusing. It is also important to note that our class size is small, so attrition of one student has a bigger impact than a program with a larger class. Sometimes rates are affected by students personal lives which has an impact on our rates, but is not something we can change.
Please provide the most recent annual job placement rate:
· Total # of graduates
20
· Total # of graduates contacted
20
· Of the total contacted, how many reported employment in the field for which the program prepared them?
19
What is the program’s ELA for job placement?
75
Was the most recent annual job placement at or above rate the ELA?
Yes
How are you sharing end-of-program student learning outcomes with your communities of interest?

**Note, this question specifically is asking about end-of-program student learning outcomes (Criterion 6.1), not licensure examination pass rate, program completion rate, or job placement rate.**

Select all that apply:
- Other:
Explain:
Historically end of program student learning outcomes were shared with the advisory board as noted by students on a survey at the end of the program and general summative evaluations. They were not individually assessed and reported. The nurse administrator attended the manager workshop and self-study forum recently to learn that each individual end of program student learning outcome needs to have specific ELA's . The faculty are in the process of correcting this issue and the information will be shared with our advisory board at our next meeting.

What innovative strategies are you using for clinical placements?
Explain:
Reaching out to community facilities and approaching facilities that would be new to us.
What mechanisms and opportunities do you utilize to ensure your faculty obtains relevant and timely professional development?
Explain:
The nursing department has a membership to Nurse Tim and the faculty have been reviewing test item writing and analysis webinars as a group. All full time faculty have gone to the ACEN conference in the past year. One full time faculty member is completing a course on simulation which will prepare her to sit for certification. One full time faculty went to the St. Anselm's Annual Nurse Educator's Conference in May. Faculty have to complete a plan with their goals for the year and how they will meet those goals. They have to complete a professional development document each year indicating what they have done for professional development.

Section 7: Feedback and Comments

Section 7: Video Instruction

What question(s) would you like the ACEN to include on the annual report next year?
There are no other questions that I can think of to include for next year- just comment sections to be able to explain some of the questions that can't be answered with just a yes or no, or a number. Please see below for explanation.
Comments:
1. It is difficult to complete areas of this report as more than on academic year is included. For instance, you ask for the pass rate for 2017 which is in line with this report, but then you ask for the most recent completion and job placement rates which would be for the class of 2018 as our classes always graduate in May. Then you ask for qualified applicants and number admitted from july 2017 to June 2018 which would be the class of 2020 as they enter in the fall of 2018. So technically this report has information regarding three different classes. 2. It would be nice to be able to have a comment section in those areas that can't be specifically answered with a single answer. For instance- the question about employment rates asks how many students were contacted and how many responded? We do ask students before they leave the program if they have a job already, pending NCLEX results so we are able to find out some information at that time. We sent surveys to all of them post graduate and NCLEX and the return rate was 0% but we were able to find out that students had obtained jobs by facebook, or running into them in the community, through other students etc. but otherwise it's difficult to get this information. Therefore under the number of students contacted and the number that responded, even though the response rate is 0% we did find out where all of the worked so I had to put the total number as there was no where to explain this.

Role:

I, the undersigned, hereby attest that, to the best of my knowledge, belief, and ability, all information provided herein the entirety of this survey is accurate and complete and provided in accordance with ACEN Policy #31 Integrity.
